Vocalist Becky Wassel Cagen has been thrilling audiences with her amazing voice and stylistic
versatility since she was a teenager. Her enthusiastic, high-energy performances are intoxicating. Becky possesses a stunning 4 & 1/2 octave range which enables her to sing virtually all genres of music, from Etta James to Beyonce, from the Supremes to Lady Gaga. Her rendition of “At Last” is nothing short of “presidential”, as she performed it at President Obama’s inaugural ball.

Trained both in theater and music, Becky is known for her precise diction, thoughtful phrasing and persuasive interpretations. She speaks and sings in seven languages.

For Becky the visual presentation is as paramount as the sound. Known for her fashion sense and style, her couture wardrobe always coordinates with the event theme and color scheme. “Matching the party is always a great excuse to go shopping!” she says.

As a musical entrepreneur Becky is a leader in the Chicago entertainment scene. Becky is president, founder and owner of the prominent musical contracting and production company Cagen Music LLC. She is the co–bandleader and vocalist with “The Don Cagen Orchestra”.

Becky also stars in her corporate shows for national and international clients including Mercedes Benz, BASF and Hilton International.

“It would be hard to choose the favorite part of my job” Becky says. “Of course I love motivating the crowd and singing all styles of music, But in the end, what I take with me, are the wonderful relationships I have formed with my clients, and feeling honored to have shared in the happiest days of their lives.”

In 1990 Becky Cagen was cast as a singer in the film “Opportunity Knocks”, with comedian Dana Carvey. Becky has been featured in interviews in the Chicago Tribune, Pioneer Press, and North Shore Magazine.

Becky is currently working on two recording projects, a CD of original songs and a CD of international music. She also has been chosen to score her first film in 2011.

Her professional credits began at age 11 when she sang on her first commercial jingle. She studied drama as a child and attended the Harand Theater Camp for seven years. Becky has appeared in numerous theater productions, including the leading role of Maria in “West Side Story.” Becky was awarded a full talent scholarship from the Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University where she majored in voice and music in special education.

A vinyl record collector, Becky has of over 6000 classical, jazz and pop recordings. She enjoys swimming and hiking near her vacation home in the woods just outside Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, and spends much of her free time with Ella, her ten year-old Australian Labradoodle. Don is, well, her number two.
